London studio will give away free tattoos

First free flash day on first-come, first-served basis

Tomorrow (October 27) South City Market, a South London tattoo studio, will celebrate its first birthday by inking Londoners for FREE in what is being dubbed as the capital’s first-ever free flash day.

Ricky Williams, owner of the New Cross-based studio, usually charges more than £150 per hour and has a waiting list stretching to two years-plus.

Ricky will be joined by his team of fellow artists who specialise in black and grey tattoos. Artists include Luke Ashely, Loz Mclean, Peter Laeviv and Jessica Rubbish. You can find the full line up of artists below.

Since South City Market opened its doors in 2018 it has quickly become a firm favourite among celebrities and the public alike.

Over the past few years, an exciting new world of contemporary tattooing has grown in popularity. Gone are the days when ink was reserved for sailors and bikers. Now tattooing is considered an art form and South City Market claims to be leading the way.

Ricky Williams is one of London’s hottest aspiring tattoo artists. Since cutting his teeth in the iconic Parliament studio in North London, Ricky has gone on to open his own tattoo studio.

Ditching the classic tattoo blueprint, South City Market is inspired by Scandi living: a bright, clean space where people who don’t have tattoos will feel 100% comfortable.

Williams said: “For our first birthday we wanted to give something back to our amazing and loyal followers and customers. This whole year has been so great and we couldn’t have done it without the continued support and love from our wonderful client base.

Some of the available designs

“We’ll be opening our doors for the whole day and all tattoos will be completely free of charge. Our artists will have made up extensive pre-drawn flash sheets for people to choose from and there’ll be many different styles available.

“Come down, celebrate with us, enjoy the space and leave with a new tattoo! Many of our artists are fully booked for years, so this might be your last chance to get tattooed by them for a while.”
