Free London Eye tickets as the best view in the capital is tickled pink!

lastminute.com becomes the new sponsor of The Eye

To celebrate the launch this week of the new partnership between lastminute.com and The London Eye, lastminute.com is offering customers who book a selected London flight and hotel package, free tickets to ride the Eye.

It is the intention of lastminute.com and the London Eye to build on the potential of this partnership by investing in a range of innovative and memorable experiences for guests visiting the lastminute.com London Eye. Offering unrivalled views of iconic landmarks such as Big Ben and St Paul’s Cathedral, the lastminute.com London Eye is firmly embedded in the city skyline, and is now standing out bright and pink following the official announcement of the link-up at a party on Wednesday.

Meghan Trainor in action at the launch party

DJ Clara Amfo and American singer-songwriter, Meghan Trainor took to the stage, to get the party started! The Grammy award-winner is best known for her songs including ‘All About That Bass’ and ‘NO’. She will be on our TV screens tonight on ITV’s hit show, The Voice UK when the battles between the acts begin.

Both the Eye and River Cruise have now assumed the lastminute.com branding, and the lighting of the iconic wheel has changed to the recognisable hot pink to reflect lastminute.com’s signature colour.

This is a big year for this London landmark, as the Eye celebrates its 20th anniversary. Since opening two decades ago, the wheel has welcomed more than 76 million visitors and witnessed over 5,000 marriage proposals. lastminute.com is only one year older, and boasts similarly gobsmacking statistics having filled the equivalent of 250,000 aeroplanes, jetting customers off to more than 100 different countries. That’s comparable with sending the entire UK population abroad!

Marco Corradino, chief executive of lastminute.com, said: “We’re delighted to officially launch our flagship partnership with the London Eye. To see one of the capital’s most recognisable icons lit up in pink is a proud moment and we can’t wait to bring visitors from the UK and across the globe to experience it.We’ve been helping people make memories in London for more than 20 years and we know enjoying moments on this unique part of the London skyline will make people more pink in the years to come.

Sunny Jouhal, general manager at the lastminute.com London Eye said: “The London Eye has been an iconic and world-famous part of the city skyline for 20 years, making it a ‘must-do’ for visitors to the capital. We look forward to celebrating this milestone year partnered with such a renowned brand, and bringing to life the exciting plans we have agreed with them. Not forgetting being able to light up the capital in a bold pink!”
