Christmas ideas (Part II): The Cavendish London

Enjoy free flow of Champagne for 90 minutes

A few days ago I let the Christmas ‘genie’ out of the lamp and started to run articles about festive fun in the capital. This is the second in our looks at what you can do to enhance your Christmas celebrations in London. I suspect there may be a post or two more before the season is done.

This time I look at the yuletide cheer in store at the deluxe four-star The Cavendish Londonwhich is offering a selection of Christmas and New Year’s Eve experiences for guests to indulge in – starting today (November 11) and running through until January 5.

Located in the heart of Mayfair and opposite Fortnum & Mason, The Cavendish London is close to London’s top attractions, including Regent Street, Oxford Street and The West End theatres, making it the ideal place to stop off while in the capital for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Here are some of the specials the hotel has planned:

Bottomless Champagne Festive Afternoon Tea: Add some sparkle to your festive celebrations with The Cavendish London’s bottomless Champagne festive afternoon tea. Priced from £42.50 per person, guests can expect a selection of festive-themed finger sandwiches, savouries, scones and pastries served with Newby loose leaf tea or coffee and free-flowing Champagne.

Festive afternoon tea is served daily from 1pm until 6pm between November 11 and January 5. Free-flowing Champagne is available for one and a half hours. A gluten-free afternoon tea is available on request.

Festive Dining at Petrichor Restaurant: The Cavendish London’s 2AA rosette fine dining Petrichor Restaurant is offering festive lunch and dinner packages priced from £32 per person. Indulge in a three-course lunch including traditional favourites such as duck and chestnut terrine to start, and turkey roulade served with all the trimmings or roasted spiced cauliflower for main course. Followed by a traditional Christmas pudding or chocolate mousse and raspberry sorbet for dessert.

Three-course festive lunch and dinner are available between November 11 and December 21 from 5.30pm-9.30pm Monday to Thursday and 5pm-9.30pm Friday to Sunday.

New Year’s Eve at The Cavendish London: Ring in 2020 in style at The Cavendish London with Champagne and canapés followed by a five-course dinner in the hotel’s 2AA rosette fine dining Petrichor Restaurant. Guests can enjoy a variety of luxurious dishes including beetroot and goat’s cheese tart or lobster and salmon ravioli to start, and beef fillet and black truffle or wild mushroom tortellini for the main course.

Priced from £89 per person, dinner bookings are available from 5.30pm-9.30pm on December 31.

Christmas Kiss Cocktail at The Cavendish London: Celebrate the season with a Christmas Kiss cocktail in the Petrichor Bar & Lounge at The Cavendish London.
