Back to the Future musical coming to London

Time-travel show will be here five years later than anticipated

It’s been a while getting it together, but a musical version of the enormously popular Back to the Future film will come to London in 2020.

Before it gets to the capital it will have run in Manchester and details of the London show are yet to be confirmed but, provided the DeLorean doesn’t break down, it will be here after its 12-week run in Manchester which starts next February 20.

The original intention was to launch the musical in 2015. Creative differences between director and the film’s creator are rumoured to be behind the delay.

The production will include songs from the film’s soundtrack such as The Power of Love (Huey Lewis and the News) and Johnny B Goode (Chuck Berry).

Marty McFly (Michael J Fox in the original) will be played by former Bat Out of Hell star Olly Dobson.

More details when we have them.
